Winner analysis:

This is a much more competitive renewal than the last couple of years which is great to see. This race generally goes to a horse with a high OR already and in recent years horses aged 6-8. Three horses meet the significant stat, CDO (3/1), Minella Indo (10/3) and Frodon (6/1). Minella Indo comes out slightly better when applying the general stats and I've backed him ante post. Whilst Chantry House doesn't meet the significant stat he is a horse who looks like he could improve beyond his current rating and is another I've backed EW. 

In other races that I've analysed, Epatante and Not So Sleepy meet both significant stats in the Christmas Hurdle, whilst at Wetherby, Good Boy Bobby, Silver Hallmark, and Empire Steel have the best general profiles in the Royland Meyrick.

Gaelic Warrior (4/1) has been well backed over the last 24 hours due to Rich Ricci’s comments however I would be genuinely concerned about his tendency to jump right, even more so on the old course which is used for the first two days. Il Etait Temps (9/2) has the best EW profile along with Facile Vega (12/1), however the latter looks unlikely to run in this race at present, if he did though I will be backing EW.
